Clinical intolerance to a variety of food proteins has been described. The most common are cow's milk, cereals, soya protein, eggs, fish, intolerance to tomatoes, oranges, bananas, meat, nuts and chocolates has been described. The clinical manifestations of food allergy include classic allergic symptoms – systemic anaphylaxis, asthma, allergic rhinitis, atopic dermatitis, urticaria, angioedema, or gastrointestinal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal pain.
