Antibodies against deoxyribonucleoprotein represent one of the three principal groups of antibodies occurring in elevated concentration in serum of patients with diffusion diseases of the connective tissue. Their typical representative is systemic lupus erythematosus /SLE/. Referred to as DNP is the residue obtained by repeated extraction of cell nuclei with physiological saline in which it is insoluble.
