The ELISA-anti-MILK IgA, IgG, IgM kits are aimed at the quantitative determination of IgA, IgG and IgM class antibodies against the proteins of cow milk in human serum.
Cow milk is one of the potential food allergens, i.e. protein-like substances producing pathological conditions in oversensitive individuals – an abnormal response of the human immune system. Cow milk contains more than 20 various proteins; however, only a few of these are capable of triggering an immune response accompanied by pathological and physiological effects (casein, ß-lactoglobulin and α-lactalbumin). Increased levels of cow milk antibodies in the human serum are indicators of allergic diseases with dermatological symptoms (atopic eczema, urticaria), gastro-intestinal symptoms (infant colic, diarrhea, vomiting) and respiration symptoms (flu, frequent wheezing).
